For our first post
we want to share with you one of our favorite invitations.
It was custom made for
a rustic country wedding. Everything was made according to the bride’s taste.
Well…. Except for the wood graining, which was the groom’s request.
The wood graining was used on the outside as well as on the inside of the invite:
The
graining was hand painted on taupe card stock, using the Martha Stewart wood
graining tool. This was a fun project.
A very involved invite, intricate,
combining rustic elements, like de burlap, with modern techniques like the
silver embossing.
For the 300plus invites we killed about 3 heat guns. They didn't last a long time. In fact it was quite frustrating at times. So mom came up with a very ingenious idea, which we will share in a future post: heat embossing SavannahSmiles style! It's funny too!
This was a dream wedding and a huge favorite of ours!
